Shell Companies in Nigeria (SCiN) achieved significant recognition at the 41st annual international conference and exhibition of the National Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) in Lagos. The company’s contribution was acknowledged through a series of awards and honors, as detailed in a statement by Abimbola Essien-Nelson, Media Relations Manager of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCo).
SCiN stood out at the event, securing the Best Exhibitor and Platinum Sponsor awards. This recognition was a testament to their impactful exhibition and sponsorship contributions.
In the realm of technical presentations, a team of Shell engineers led by Senior Production Geologist, Abidemi Belgore, clinched the first position in the Technical paper presentation category. Furthermore, Ernest Ikpolo, a senior geophysicist with Shell, attained the third position in this competitive category, which saw over 200 presentations and posters being evaluated by the organizers.
Shell’s accolades extended further with the NAPE Award of Excellence for service being awarded to Manus Kanu and Philip Ajaebili, both esteemed members of the Shell team.
A notable highlight of the NAPE event was the election of Shell’s Growth and Portfolio Project Lead, Johnbosco Uche, as the President-elect of this prestigious professional body. Outgoing NAPE President, Elliot Ibie, lauded Shell as a “leading light in the oil and gas industry,” acknowledging their vital role in guiding and supporting indigenous companies within the sector.
Elohor Aiboni, Managing Director of SNEPCo, represented by Exploration Manager Gogo Eneyok, received the awards on behalf of Shell companies, marking a momentous occasion for the company at this significant industry event.
