SDA Celebrates 100 Years Anniversary As Ikpeazu Prays For Greater Exploits

The Eastern Nigerian Union Conference (ENUC) of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Sunday, celebrated 100 years anniversary of its establishment in Nigeria with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu praying for greater exploits by the church.

 

Governor Ikpeazu stated this whole declaring open the centenary Celebrations of the Adventist mission in Eastern Nigeria, and a one-day prayer conference and festival of baptism at the ENUC headquarters, Aba.

Governor Ikpeazu who is also member of the church, said that it was his utmost desire for the church to do greater exploits in its mission operations and touch more lives.

 

The Governor urged Christians to obey and respect God in order to receive bountiful blessings and partake in His kingdom.

 

He said: “I prophesy that the glory of the later House shall be greater than the former and the next century of the church will surpass what ever achievements it has recorded in the past”.

 

Ikpeazu said it was his expectation that the Adventists would be part of the kingdom of God and be free from sickness, strife, hardship and the travails of life.

The President of ENUC, Dr Bassey Udoh noted that the event with the theme “Almost Home” was organised by the church in commemoration of adventist mission in Eastern Nigeria.

 

The president described the celebration as a remarkable event which marked a milestone advancement in the history of the church.

 

 He said that the celebration had provided an opportunity for the church to renew its relationship with God and experience His power in greater dimension.

 

Udoh said that the church was founded on the ideology of propagating the gospel of redemption and urged members to remain steadfast to the fundamental beliefs of the church.

In a sermon titled “We are almost home”,the guest Minister Mr Robert Osei-Bonsu, charged members to rise up to the challenge of doing God’s work in their various communities.

 

Osei-Bonsu added that every member of the church must be alive to their duty as people preparing to partake in the heavenly kingdom prepared for children of God.
