Promote Peace With Host Community- Sarikin Hausawa Urges Subjects

The Sarikin Hausawa of Enugu, HRH Haruna Suleiman, has promised to be fair and just in his leadership of the northern community in the state.

Suleiman, who made this promise recently, when he crowned eleven members of his cabinet in Enugu, said the community can only enjoy peace and harmony, where the leadership is fair.

The Sarikin noted that the cabinet members were appointed and crowned based on their proven track records, undaunted integrity and service to the community.

While charging them not to rest on their oars, Suleiman urged them to do more in uniting northerners in the state as well as promoting peaceful co-existence between them and the host communities.

He gave the assurance that the community would continue to adhere and support policies and programmes of the state government.

The Chief Imam of Enugu, Zurkallah Sa’id, in his remark, sued for peace, understanding and cooperation among members of the community, to avoid conflict and misunderstanding.

Zurkalla reminded the cabinet members that they have been entrusted with the responsibility of assisting and ensuring that the Sarikin took the right decisions, through their advice and guidance.

He warned them not to see their positions as an opportunity to enrich themselves or cause division, adding that they would be held accountable for their actions.

On the leadership tussle rocking the community, the Chief Imam said he was doing everything possible to ensure amicable resolution of the matter, and asked the warring parties to stop causing unnecessary tension.

Speaking on behalf of the cabinet members, the Galadima of Sarikin, Adamu Abdullahi Sule, assured the northern community that they would assist the Sarikin to succeed on the throne.

Those crowned are Muhammadu Lawal-Ado (Waziri); Garba Sardu (Shamaki); Nasiru Mahuta (Magajin Garin); Kundiri Dauda (Sarikin Bare Bari); Sani Yahaya (Ajiyan); Murtala Tijani (Dan Madamin).

Others are Buba Dan Kala (Sarikin Zango Ugwuoba); Garba Muhammadu (Yanrima Ninth Mile); Yunusa Muhamudu (Limanin Fada) and Ibrahim Samaila (Sarikin Yakin Sarikin).
