Ikpeazu Expresses Total Commitment To The Restoration Of Power Supply In Ohafia



Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured the people of Ohafia in Ohafia LGA that his adminstration is committed to the full restoration of public power supply to all the communities in the area.


The Governor gave this assurance, Monday, when he received in audience a high powered delegation of the political and traditional leadership of the people of Ohafia at the Governor’s Lodge Aba.


Ikpeazu recalled that he had released the funds initially requested by the people to restore power but with the current reports that more funds were required to complete the job, he would ensure that the funds will be released this week.


Describing himself as a part of Ohafia because his closest friends are from there, and because Ohafia is one of the most important communities in Abia State, the Governor said he cannot stand by and watch the people battle endlessly with power challenges.


He thanked the people of Ohafia for remaining strong allies of his administration and the PDP for a very long time assuring them that their long years of loyalty and support will not go unrewarded and expressed gratitude to the delegation.


Earlier in their separate speeches, the leader of the delegation and Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, Rt Hon Ifeanyi Uchendu, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Barrister Olugu Kalu Ugba, Commissioner for Public Utilities, Barrister Kingsley Imaga, Engr. Uma Agbai, a representative of the Udumeze Ohafia, Professor U L Lekwa and Eze Odum Amogu all expressed their deep gratitude to the Governor on behalf of the people of Ohafia for his consistent show of interest and solidarity with the people of Ohafia.


They appealed to the Governor to come to their rescue again by further approving funds for the completion of the restoration of power and thanked him for the first tranche of funds which kickstarted the power restoration.


Other members of the delegation included Mr Chidiebere Uwaga, Commissioner for Establishment and Training, Chief Mrs Love Ezema, mni, Principal Secretary to the Wife of the Governor and other eminent sons of Ohafia.
