Former Abia PDP Chairman,Ndidi Okereke Laid To Rest

 

The remains of a Former Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party PDP Abia State Chapter,Chief Ndidi Okereke has been laid to rest in his hometown,Ngodo Isuochi,Umunneochi Local Government Area of the state.

Aged 67, the late Chief Ndidi Okereke,a former Board Chairman of the Federal Medical Centre, FMC, Umuahia passed on in the early hours of Monday,14th November 2022.

 

Speaking at a funeral service held in his honour at the Wesley Cathedral Methodist Church Ngodo Isuochi, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu said that the sudden death of late Ndidi Okereke has created a big vacuum in the PDP family and Abia State in general.

Governor Ikpeazu described the deceased as one of the courageous and selfless Leaders Abia has ever produced adding that he will be greatly missed by all.

 

The Governor represented by the State Chairman of the PDP, Dr. Asiforo Okere said that the news of the death of Chief Okereke came to them as a rude shock, adding that PDP and Abia State Government are yet to recover from ugly event.

He urged the immediate Family,the people of Umunneochi,Abia North, and the entire PDP family to bear the loss with fortitude adding that the indelible contributions of late Chief Ndidi Okereke to the growth and development of the PDP and Abia State will not be forgotten.

In a sermon the Prelate Emeritus of the Methodist Church Nigeria, The Most Rev’d Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche who described the late Sir Ndidi Okereke as Compassionate, magnanimous, hospitable, generous and friendly recalled his experience with the deceased as a secondary school classmate and confidant.

The most Rev’d Kanu Uche who preached on the topic: “Who Knows Tomorrow” noted that the strange things happening around us speak volumes of the uncertainty of life, and urged the bereaved family to take solace in the assurance of life after death and in the legacies left behind by their father.

Top Government functionaries including the Senator Mao Ohuabunwa,Col.Austin Akobundu,Chief Onyema Ugochukwu, the member representing Arochukwu/Ohafia federal Constituency Chief Uko Nkole, Commissioner for Information Dr Eze Chikamnayo, Member representing Abia South Senatorial District,Chief Enyinnaya Abaribe among others attended the burial ceremony.
