EPL: Liverpool Brush Brighton Aside
Liverpool reduced Manchester’s lead to three points with a well-deserved 0-2 victory over Brighton.
Luis Diaz opened scoring after 19 minutes when he raced on to Joel Matip’s text book pass and headed past the onrushing Brighton goalkeeper, Robert Sanchez.
Mohamed Salah made it two in the second half via penalty after Yves Bissouma’s hand ball. The goal was Salah’s 20th goal of the season and Liverpool’s 2,000th Premier League goal.
This is Liverpool’s eighth successive league wins and Brighton’s fifth consecutive league defeat.
In the second match of the day, Brentford defeated Burnley 2-0.
