Engineer Ikpeazu Commended For Sponsoring Free Medicare In Umuobiakwa

The Ulari Maternity Umuobiakwa, in collaboration with Vicar Hope Foundation has organised a 2, day free medical services for indigent people in Obingwa Local Government Area of Abia State.

The sponsor of the free medical outreach, Engineer Chinedum Ikpeazu, said that living a healthy life is very important without which we cannot perform.

According to him “In this period of so many uncertainties maintaining good health has become costly henceforth with the little we have received from God ought to be deployed in assisting the indigent assess common basic medications that will improve their lives.

Again, I want to use this privilege and opportunity to reach out to my community so that they will live in good health”, He said.

In her address, the wife of Abia Governor Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu commended Engr. Chinedum, for his kind gesture towards his community and encouraged the people to make maximum use of the check ups, on high blood pressure, sugar count, breast check, genotype screening to monitor their health.

According to her, ” everything we are witnessing here today are free and the sponsorship of this outreach is doing it to help humanity and to the glory of God.

Also speaking, Barrister, Ifeanyi Ikpeazu said he is grateful to God that Engr. Chinedum, is keeping up with the family tradition which started with our beloved late mother Mrs. Bessie Ikpeazu.

This outreach, he said was in a way to ensure that the rate of human mortality is reduced.

In their separate remarks, Mrs. Stella Ukaumunna, described high blood pressure as a silent killer and advised on cutting down on alcohol and salt intake.

While Dr. Edith Nwosu, of Vicar Hope Foundation explained that sickle cell disease is an inherited disease from our parents whose genotype were SS or As As and advised that couples should know their genotype before getting married .
