Abia Youth Elite Drums Total Support For Prof. Ikonne

Youths under the umbrella of Abia Youth Elite has given its backing to the governorship candidacy of Professor Uche Ikonne, the Immediate past Vice-Chancellor of Abia State University.

Abia Youth Elite made this known during a solidarity visit to Professor Ikonne at his Umuahia residence.

The group led by its National Coordinator, Comrade John Nwakanma, described Professor Ikonne as an experienced administrator, who has a lot to offer to Ndi Abia going by his enviable track records.

In there separate speeches, the coordinators from Abia Nort, Agbeze Chinomso, Abia South, Comr. Chigbo Godwin, and Abia Central, Comr. Ikenna Balogun,
described Prof. Ikonne’s political aspirations as apt as Abia needs a leader that would consolidate on the success of Governor Ikpeazu in the state.

They also noted with nostalgia, Prof. Ikonne’s sterling contributions at Abia State University and Abia State Polytechnic as Vice-Chancellor and Acting Rector respectively.

Contributing, the Deputy Chairman Ikwuano, Comr. Cokey Lordson Nwachukwu described Professor Ikonne as a perfect example of a true Abia essence, silent achiever, fair but firm-minded leader, veritable team player and a visionary administrator, who has always employed his creative ingenuity and brilliant developmental ideas to transform any position entrusted to him, and left people yearning for more”.

Responding, Professor Ikonne, represented by the Director General Uche Ndi Abia, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Elechi thanked them for their thoughtfulness and reminded them that the journey requires a collective effort.

In a vote of thanks, Comr. Chigozie Ukomadu thanked Professor Ikonne for the warm reception, with a promise to continue with their support for Prof. Ikonne.

Highlights of the visit was the donation of campaign materials to UcheNdiAbia campaign organisation.

Dr. Nnamdi Nwaeze, Dr. Chiemela Wambu, Chief. Mbah Ukagha, Prince Enyinnaya Ubani, Dr. Ike Onyenwaku, Barr. Stanley Ojigbo amongst others, were present during the visit.
