2023:PDP National Youth Movement,Insists On Youthful Governorship Aspirants To Be Elected Across 36 States


The PDP National Youth Movement after a South East caucus meeting held in Umuahia,the Abia State Capital,has called on all relevant stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party to ensure a Youthful,Useful and Resourceful governorship aspirants are elected across the 36 states of the federation.

According to the group, it was not enough for the youth to have an affordable Party Nomination and Expression of interest form,but critical and essential that young people secure the Party’s tickets at the primaries, hence the call on National leadership to further prevail on critical stakeholders at various state levels to give special consideration for youth who are jostling for Party ticket as the party commences Primaries.

In a Press Conference organized to brief the media on the outcome of their South East caucus meeting in Umuahia, the National President of PDP National Youth Movement, Comr Salahudeen A. Lukman
commended the party leadership, stakeholders and faithful members across all levels,most especially the National Executive Committee (NEC ) of the PDP under the chairmanship of Dr. Iyorchia Ayu and the Youth leadership under Prince Muhammed Sulieman Kadede, for demonstrating the party’s practical commitment to youth inclusion and involvement in politics, which is today a template followed by other political parties in Nigeria including the ruling APC.

In a Communique jointly signed by the National President of the PDP National Youth Movement,Comr Salahudeen Lukman,the National Secretary General,Engr Chinedu Joshua, Zonal Vice President South-West, Comr.Pelebe Olasunkanmi Nelson, Zonal Vice President South-East, Rev Chris Chukwuemeka, Zonal Vice President South-South, Comr Sheriff Ogonda Ekwo, Zonal Vice President North-West,Yusuf Audu Musa, Zonal Vice President North-East, Comr Jona Danladi, Zonal Vice President North-Central,Engr Yakubu Nurudeen Yahaya and Comr. Akanimo Ifiokobong,Chairman of Chairmen, stated that the critical review of youthful Gubernatorial aspirants across the 36 states of the federation, has further shown that Abia state is one of the states that has practical young men running for the office of the Governor under the People’s Democratic Party, congratulating and counting Abia State lucky for the stride.

“Indeed Abia is Lucky to have a practical, competent and capable youths on the race to rescue the mission of governance, it’s credible best choice for ABIANS to embrace the new order, a new order to birth freedom from fear of known and unknown, the freedom from limitation and continue dominance of old idea of leadership and Governance, it’s high time the Abia State embraced innovative leadership by ending recycling to birth new direction that will give Abia State a new beginning.

“The China of Nigeria is Abia State, it deserves a better leadership with innovation and leadership seal for the state to live up to its potential of being the economic hub of Nigeria.

“Arising from this critical evaluation, as young citizens of this great country with clear understanding of politics, power and Governance, we hereby, recommend to the Abia state delegates, a choice of Youthful, Useful and Resourceful Candidate among the young aspirants, a youth with zeal, a youth with difference, a youth with clear cut understanding of governance, effective and efficient management of the people, power, resources and interest to bear the flag of our great party in Abia State for a turn around in the Affairs of the state”,the Communique read.

The group further disclosed that the programmatic young aspirants in Abia, including the likes of Mayor Lucky Igbokwe (Don LuLu), Dr Chima Anyaso, would surely deliver, if given the opportunity to govern Abia, as they are more than prepared and ready for the job.

The organization who stated that they understand how important education is to the young and upcoming generations, as well, national security, economy and social development,condemned in totality the less seriousness and concern given to education sector by the ruling All Progressive Congress, having ASUU on strike for three months with extension of another three months,while ASUP is commencing her own strike today.

They said it is so worrisome how the naira falls freely on daily basis with unstable inflation rate, fuel scarcity still lingers, Kaduna Abuja train attack victims,where citizens are still in captivity, yet the Minister of Education, Minister of Transportation, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria,Minister of Labour and Minister of Petroleum who are saddled with the responsibilities of the respective Ministries and Agencies,are all in the race for President of Nigeria under the failed ruling party APC.

“This a clear case of failure, lack of respect for Nigerians, electorates, masses and peak of inhumanity of man against humanity.

“We the PDP National Youth Movement challenges President Buhari to prove to Nigerians that he is a man of integrity by sacking his careless and clueless cabinet members, as they have all clearly shown lack of understanding of their primary responsibilities, misplacement of priority, negligence of duty and abuse of office.The President is hereby adviced to appoint another persons forthwith, if there is any one with conscience left in APC to mount those critical ministries”.

The communique further stated that while the youth movement expresses deep concern and sympathy for teeming Nigerian students, declared their total support for National shutdown of all major roads and Airports by student leadership as declared by her mother body NANS.

The communique also urged Nigerians not to reinforce failure, but reject APC at the poll from top to bottom.”Our dear Party PDP which is known for pro people oriented governance should be massively supported to reclaim power accross board, states and center to Rescue and Rebuild our dear Nation Nigeria as a matter of urgency and National interest”,it concludes
